This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information from users of the Way To Eternity, an augmented reality application developed with Unity. By scanning specific pages of a book on Ancient Egypt, users can unlock AR objects, play videos, and interact with a chatbot designed to provide educational content related to the book and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Cairo.

2. Data We Collect

The app does not require account creation and does not collect any personal identifying information (such as name, email, or phone number), unless otherwise stated.

3. Augmented Reality Functionality

The app uses the device’s camera to recognize specific pages of the physical book and trigger AR content. Images captured by the camera are neither stored nor transmitted to our servers.

All visual recognition processes are handled locally on the device, using Unity-compatible AR frameworks (e.g., AR Foundation, Vuforia, etc.).

4. Videos and Multimedia Content

When an object is activated or a button is pressed, a video may be played. Videos can be:

  • Stored locally in the app

  • Or streamed from external servers

No personal information is collected during video playback.

5. Chatbot Functionality

The app includes a chatbot powered by OpenAI technology, designed to answer questions related to the catalog content and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Cairo.

When you use the chatbot:

  • Your questions are processed by a language model provided by OpenAI

  • Data is handled in accordance with the OpenAI Privacy Policy

  • We do not store or monitor conversations for commercial or profiling purposes

  • Requests are automatically anonymized

6. Legal Basis for Data Processing

Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), we process technical and usage data based on the legitimate interest of the controller to improve the app, without compromising users’ rights and freedoms.

7. Children

This app is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 years of age. If a parent or guardian believes we have collected information from a child, they may contact us to request deletion.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy. In the case of significant changes, we will notify users through an in-app update.
